Ali Temple No 257 in the beautiful Oasis of Jacksonville, Desert of North Carolina is constantly striving to maintain a very active presence within the city of Jacksonville and surrounding counties. We are determined to make a difference in the lives of the youths as we assist deserving high school students with scholarships to further their education. We also assist in community service projects and visit our elderly in the various rest homes. When the question is asked, “Who are the nobles of Ali Temple?” to put it quite simple, we are good men working for the community that we love.
During the last Ali Temple Potentate Ball Weekend 19-21 June 2019, the community, Nobles and Daughters from various temples and courts came out, some 750+, to honor the Illustrious Potentate John B. Withers Jr. at the Court Marriott in Jacksonville, NC. The weekend commenced with a “Harlem Nights” themed Party, “Rep Your Temple / Court or Greek” organization dance on Saturday at the Marriott and concluded with the Charity Ball held at the American Legion.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of three (3) $1,000.00 scholarships checks to three graduating students from Onslow County High School. The recipients of the deserving awards were Kierra Parramore, Tammy Chadwick Pointe and Kamryn Fleming, who at the time was in her first year in college at Fayetteville State University.
Due to COVID-19, the ball has been cancelled the past two years. In 2022, Ali Temple returns with our annual Potentate Ball to honor the Illustrious Potentate Lorenzo Jones Sr. The weekend event and festivities will be hosted at the Hampton Inn, and the Ball will take place at the American Legion.
